Taste and Tour adds three new ‘off the eaten track’ tours
Award-winning food and drink experience company Taste and Tour has increased its Belfast-based offering to include three additional tours.
Recently awarded the title of Northern Ireland’s Best Small Visitor Attraction from Tourism NI and Belfast City Airport, the company has welcomed over 15,000 guests from across the world, supporting Belfast’s growing reputation as a food and drink capital.
All Taste and Tour experiences, including the three new tours, see guests enjoy an on-foot, expertly-guided, food and drink tour to some of Belfast City’s best-loved and often undiscovered hotspots.
The three new tours are available to book from today with the first running in January 2020.
The City Cocktail Circuit explores Belfast’s exciting cocktail culture. Cocktails that had their heyday in the early 2000’s such as the Woo-Woo or the Strawberry Daiquiri do not make an appearance on this three-hour city dander, with guests instead enjoying the prowess of Belfast’s most-renowned cocktail experts and cocktail venues including The Merchant Hotel and Liquor. It takes in five venues, seven cocktails, and some bite-sized culinary delights.
Developed following a surge in Belfast’s quality brunch offering over the last few years, the 5-stop Brunch takes all the must-have elements of a classic brunch and repackaging these into a grazing-style Sunday tour spread across three hours. Guests will take in five of the City’s finest restaurants and quirky cafes each serving up a memorable brunch plate and cocktail.
The final new addition, Crafty Beers and Street Eats, is led by Taste and Tour’s resident beer expert and street food aficionado. This adventurous tour helps beer lovers learn all about the local craft beer scene and emerging street food trends. Visiting four beer and street food venues, guests will try seven beers and four street food bites, this three-hour tour is ideal for empty bellies and open minds.
The company’s original Belfast Food Tour remains one of its most-popular tours, with recent additions, the Belfast Gin Jaunt and the Belfast Whiskey Walk, created in response to an increase in local spirit production and Taste and Tour’s overall purpose to promote Belfast’s growing reputation as a food and drink capital and support local producers and venues in doing so.
“Our overall aim is to highlight the very best of local produce and talent through interactive and entertaining experiences,” said Phil Ervine, co-founder, Taste and Tour. “We focus on sharing both the well-known and the under-the-radar to offer our guests a food and drink experience that they won’t forget.
“We’ve been working on our new tour concepts for over a year, so it’s very exciting to reveal each one in all its glory – perfect timing just ahead of the gifting season too. We always try to keep ahead of the curve and our new food and drink experiences tap into emerging trends such as street food and much-loved occasions like brunch, but of course feature our Taste and Tour twist.
“It’s incredible to have had the support of local producers and venues to bring our ideas to life over the last three years and we’re particularly motivated by the ambitious level of collaboration on our new tours. Our partner venues and producers have been really pro-active and receptive to our ideas while bringing their own expertise and creativity too to make sure our customers get a fun-filled tour packed with great eats, delicious drinks and slice of Belfast education on the side.
“Over the last three years we’ve welcomed over 15,000 guests of all ages and nationalities. Our existing sales demographics shows that food and drink is a language we all understand and love. We’re really proud that we have built a strong brand in our Belfast attraction and that this allows us to focus on building Belfast as a cultural capital.”
Taste and Tour has four full-time employees on its core team along with 18 tour guides and the company expects to expand this further in 2020 with new roles soon to be announced in operational and marketing roles.
