Hospitality Exchange – unmasking the challenges & opportunities
Today marks the launch of the programme for this year’s Hospitality Exchange which takes place on the 16 &17th October 2018 in the Crowne Plaza, Belfast. It’s a packed agenda featuring industry legend Chef Marco Pierre White, trend-setting food critic Giles Coren and cutting-edge insights from Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor.
In a year which has seen unprecedented growth in the hotel sector, the conference will include the launch of an industry forecast for the Northern Ireland market by leading benchmarking company STR. This study will unmask the opportunities and challenges created by the influx of new product, giving an in-depth analysis of the local hotel landscape.
As the programme was unveiled, Gavin Carroll, President of the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) says:
“It’s the 19th Hospitality Exchange and it’s a really exciting time for everyone in the hospitality sector. This has always been a dynamic industry and the massive growth we are experiencing has really shown the economic potential of hotels. It is important that we attract more visitors, adapt our businesses to current market trends and have great market intelligence. The programme for 2018 provides valuable insights into current issues including skills, promotion and coping with change. We have an impressive line-up which includes internationally acclaimed names and I can genuinely say that there is something for everyone at this year’s event.”
He continues: “It’s also an ideal opportunity to meet up with industry colleagues and suppliers. In this digital age, it’s important that we remember how powerful face to face relationships actually are. Being in the hospitality industry, we’ve also included a couple of interesting social elements in the programme. The finale of this year’s event will be a Venetian themed Masquerade Ball for Hospitality Exchange 2018, bringing glamour to the forefront of what is set to be the industry’s most awaited party!”
