The Last Word with Yvonne McIlree, director of sales and marketing at Titanic Hotel Belfast
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS ROLE?
Seven months. Titanic Hotel Belfast opened in September 2017, and the management team was brought on board three months prior to the grand opening. It has been an incredible experience to be part of the launch of the world’s most authentic Titanic-themed hotel, right in the heart of where she was designed, Harland & Wolff and these historic docklands.
DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY?
I review my activity (set in advance) for that day, in order of priority, and try and stick to it as much as possible. I try and keep daytime activity as sales focused as possible – communicating and engaging with existing and potential clients; sales calls and site visits for everything from conferences to wedding days. I call it my ‘selling time’. Then in the evening I would catch up with emails and administration work.
