High Summer temperatures and great racing will make for a winning combination on Friday 22 July as crowds flock to Down Royal for the annual Magners Race Evening.

Traditionally, the long and balmy Summer evening delivers a uniquely laid back atmosphere for what is undoubtedly one of the year’s most exciting major flat race meetings – although, while the punters and the Magners remain perfectly chilled, the competition on-track is sure to be hot!

Julia Galbraith, Magners Brand Manager at Tennent’s NI, says, “We’re looking forward not only to some great racing, but also to a fantastic celebration of racing sociability. With the meet running from just before 6pm to around 8.30pm, it’s a perfectly timed escape after a tough week in the office.  Magners Race Evening is the ultimate excuse for a night out – both a great introduction for racing ‘newbees’ and a fun night for fans.

“Magners will be doing its bit to keep trackside temperatures cool, showcasing Magners great new look for Summer, alongside its new Magners Forbidden Flavours, which are all packed with the seventeen varieties of apples that have made the brand a firm favourite.  Magners Forbidden Flavours adds an extra bite of real fruit fusion, where punters can choose between Strawberry & Lime or Cloudy Lemon, each perfectly designed to bring innovation and excitement to fans of flavoured cider.”

Mike Todd, General Manager at Down Royal Racecourse, says, “There’s something really special about enjoying a Summer night at the races, with a wonderfully relaxed and social vibe around the track.  Our annual Magners Race Evening provides a great opportunity to kick back and chill while watching some fantastic racing … and, if you’re into people-watching, you’ll enjoy the great mixture of styles and personalities too.  It’s shaping up to be a great night both on and off the track and we’re looking forward to welcoming Summer race-goers to Down Royal on July 22.”

Entrance to the Magners July Race Evening is £10 per person or £15 for a value-packed pint and punt pack. Hospitality packages also on offer. For further details or to book, check out www.downroyal.com.
