Henderson Foodservice employees have raised a massive £24,000 for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice through a wide range of fundraising activities organised by its staff.

Over the last year, staff at the Mallusk-based hospitality supplier helped to organise a Family Fun Day, a Santa and Elf Delivery Day and even sold tickets for a giant Christmas Advent calendar. A wide range of traditional fundraising events were also arranged including quizzes, breakfast mornings, raffles and dress-down days for staff, all of which helped to raise much needed funds for the NI Children’s Hospice.

Managing Director Damien Barrett said: “Every year we continue to be blown away by the enormous generosity of our staff from across the entire business. Everyone is so keen to get involved with our fundraising efforts and the team is always coming up with new and creative ways to help us reach our targets.”

“Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is the only service of its type within Northern Ireland caring for children and young people with very complex needs and we are proud to support its extremely important work.”

“As well as being geographically close to our business, the Children’s Hospice is also very close to the heart of some of our staff members who have experienced first-hand the wonderful services and specialist care this charity provides to life-limited children and young people.”

Henderson Foodservice is continuing its proud association with the NI Children’s Hospice for 2016 and has already planned a packed calendar of events to try and better this year’s total.

Ellen Hillen, Corporate Fundraising Manager at the NI Children’s Hospice welcomed the contribution made by Henderson Foodservice and praised them for continuing to make significant contributions to the organisation.

“This most recent donation of £24,000 from Henderson Foodservice will allow the team at the Children’s Hospice to enhance the provision of palliative care to those children in our local communities living with both life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. This money will also help us to fund very specialist nursing care for children and young people in their own homes which can bring much needed relief for their families.”

“No one can underestimate the enormous value of Hospice care for those families who rely on our services and the lifelines that we provide. We are so grateful to Henderson Foodservice for their continued support and want to express our thanks to the staff and management for the huge difference they have made to the live of the very special families we care for.”
