Gráinne Maher unveils spectacular Christmas tree for fashion forward Fitzwilliam Hotel
On Friday The Fitzwilliam Hotel, Belfast, revealed its latest designer Christmas tree created by famed local fashion designer, Gráinne Maher, known for her award-winning jewellery design and millinery.
The partnership between the luxury hotel and Gráinne began in 2013 when together they launched the first designer Christmas tree in Northern Ireland; following in the footsteps of globally renowned designers Lanvin, John Galliano and Dolce & Gabbana, who have created Christmas trees for the world famous Claridge’s Hotel.
Having established a reputation as the fashionable and chic place to stay, eat and drink in Belfast, The Fitzwilliam Hotel has now staked its claim as the leading fashion forward luxury hotel this festive season.
Gráinne’s much anticipated second design is now in residence in the grand lobby of the Fitzwilliam Hotel and features over 200 custom-made decorations inspired by her Pluck & Devour jewellery range and the hotel’s modern interior.
Commenting on her eagerly awaited Christmas tree design, Gráinne said: “This collaboration was a natural fit for me as it’s a design-led hotel and it’s in such close proximity to my new retail outlet, Grainne Maher::VAULT, in Spires Mall, which is home to many Irish designer collections including Emma Manley, Una Burke and Sara O’Neill.
“This year I continued with a contemporary feel for the tree using my suspended Owl Moon Star jewellery and Swarovski detailing inspired by my millinery, but I stuck with a traditional festive colour scheme of red, green and gold. I’d encourage guests and passers-by to call in and enjoy the festive atmosphere.”
The Christmas tree designed by Gráinne will remain in the hotel lobby until the New Year.
