Hilden Festival cancelled following family tragedy

Following a tragic accident at Hilden Brewery last week in which Oliver, the four year-old son of brewery manager Owen Scullion, died, this year’s Hilden Beer and Music Festival has been cancelled.

The Hilden Beer and Music Festival had been due to take place over August 28-30, and tickets purchased from either Molly’s Yard or at Hilden Brewery can be refunded from August 17 at Molly’s Yard and from August 27 at the Brewery.

Owen Scullion was also injured in the accident, and the Scullion-Hanna family has asked for privacy during a difficult time.

Seamus Scullion, grandfather of Oliver, said in a statement: “Oliver was a beautiful child, full of life and enthusiasm for everything he did. It is difficult to come to terms with life without him. We will miss him more than words can express.”

Greer Publications – publisher of Hospitality Review NI – expresses its sincere condolences to the Scullion-Hanna family at this sad time. Messages of support for the family have come from across the hospitality sector.
